Personalized Tutoring and Learning Support
At Impact Learning, tutoring is about more than completing assignments or memorizing facts. It's about identifying individual needs, strengthening foundational skills, building confidence, and helping students become more independent learners.
Through personalized instruction, engaging activities, and meaningful practice, we meet students where they are and help them take the next steps forward.

How Tutoring Works
At Impact Learning, we believe effective tutoring starts with understanding the learner. Every student comes with different strengths, needs, experiences, and goals. Our approach is individualized, flexible, and designed to grow with each student. We work with the family (who we consider to be the expert) in best understanding each individual student.
Goal Setting and Progress Monitoring
For families who prefer a more structured approach, Impact Learning offers an optional goal-setting and progress monitoring process designed to establish clear learning goals, encourage accountability, and track growth over time. The process and timeline can be adapted to each student's needs and includes:
1. Getting to know the learner: Families complete the student questionnaires, understanding student strengths and needs, identifying family priorities, and informal observations and/or pre-assessments.
2. Setting Goals and Establishing a Plan: Identifying areas of focus and developing an individualized lan based on the student's needs and families goals.
3. Learning, Practicing, and Growing: Providing targeted instruction, engaging activities, and opportunities to strengthen skills through consistent practice.
4. Checking Progress: When appropriate, using informal skills checks, observations, or assessments to evaluate growth in an area and to identify next steps.
5. Reflecting and Moving Forward: Reviewing progress, celebrating growth, and discussing the continuation of a goal or developing a new goal or focus area.
*The length and pacing of each cycle depends on the student's needs, session frequency, and goals.
Personalized to Each Family
While the growth cycle provides a framework for structured, goal-oriented tutoring, not every family needs the same level of formal assessment, progress tracking, or reporting. Some families prefer specfific academic goals, measurable progress checks, and periodic updates. Others simply want consistent homework support, additional practice, or ongoing reinforcement of classroom skills.
We work with families to determine what approach best fits their needs. Whether structured or more flexible, our focus remains the same: providing meaningful support and helping each learner move forward.
